Job Description

The Chief Operations Officer oversees operational activities across all aspects of the bank, specifically lending, deposits, and electronic banking. This COO will need to effectively and efficiently manage current processes, implement changes when appropriate, and lead a team of operations staff to their fullest potential.

Areas of Focus:

  • Deposit & Lending Operations
    • Vetting policy and procedure
    • Ensure accuracy, efficiency, completeness
  • Core System Management
    • Exceptional knowledge of how tasks and data interact with the core system is required
    • Maintain software products and procedures
    • Maintain product specifications and integration
    • Ensure internal controls are in place for audits and exams
  • Implement changes to policy and procedure per regulatory requirements
    • Create new policy and procedure when necessary and train to implement
    • Manage process improvement. Identify areas of weakness to streamline processes for efficiency.
  • Manage vendor contracts and relationships
  • Oversee the bank's Internal Auditor and respond to monthly findings
    • Work closely with outside examiners during scheduled exams
  • Oversee a team of 5-10 operations staff with a genuine desire to lead them
    • No time or desire for micro-management!
    • Teach, empower, and challenge your team to become well-rounded operations contributors

The person hired for this COO role will report directly to the bank's CEO and work closely with the CFO, VP of IT, Bank President, and leaders of other departments to ensure a collaborative and cohesive workflow.
