Continuous Improvement Specialist who will shape the culture of a growing, thriving manufacturing company immediately and in the future.

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will lead the company in adapting a LEAN Manufacturing methodology through Continuous Improvement across every aspect of the company. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will be able to clearly define, articulate and train Continous Improvement Methodology across every department. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will have a major and immediate impact on how the company operates and their vision for the future.

Purpose:

Initiates and facilitates lean improvement programs and activities.

Responsible for leadership and development of programs that educate employees about lean concepts that lead to the identification, development, and implementation of improvements Perlick. Typical improvement activity results in improved safety, productivity, quality, and cost reductions.

Provide CI activity support to the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recommends Continuous Improvement projects through the use of Six Sigma and Lean Methods based on evaluating financial data and qualitative analysis supported by proposed budget and cost/benefit forecasts.
  • Project manage approved Continuous Improvement programs by coordinating necessary human and operational resources and setting and implementing budgetary and scheduling controls to achieve charter goals.
  • Coach and train operational managers, staff, and employees to apply, support, sustain, and develop a Continuous Improvement culture
  • Provide active and visible leadership in managing projects to improve quality, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and generate growth opportunities and revenue enhancements.
  • Teaches others to lead improvement efforts, including training on effective tools for successful project leadership.
  • Identify ongoing lean improvement training needs and assist with developing and implementing the required training.
  • Establish and monitor metrics for financial savings as compared to established goals and targets. Develop and maintain annual value stream mapping efforts, CI plans, and calendars.
  • Provide support as needed to external customers in support of all Perlick operations value added initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS, BA or similar degree with an emphasis in manufacturing, or equivalent is desired
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in leading, promoting, and teaching the use of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma
  • Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt trained
  • Strong change management skills to include the practical implementation of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Concepts.
  • Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to engage a cross-functional team towards a desired outcome.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficiently.
  • Proven analysis and presentation skills including use of common tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
