Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Finance role provides accurate financial and management information on a periodic and ad hoc basis, delivering insights and recommendations to senior managers aiding decision making, and driving innovative process improvements within Finance and the wider organization that meet

  • Build, manage, develop, and mentor a team of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable assistants, ensuring common alignment and agreement on strategy and priorities, and to maintain a strong understanding of overall company plans.
  • Agree and monitor targets and objectives with the team on a regular process to ensure completion of set goals for the department.
  • Manage and run semi-monthly payroll, along with associated reporting, tax filings and handling any employee queries relating to pay.
  • Ensure any targets set for the business relating to QMS KPI's are monitored and met where appropriate (e.g. NC, CAPA, complaints resolution, self-training etc.).
  • Manage Cash Collection, Credit, Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, credit cards, expenses and General Accounting functions.
  • Ensure all payment runs are conducted accurately and on-time according to payment terms, and complete set up of payments with clear communication.
  • Provide timely and accurate finance information to the internal and external stakeholders, and ensure the consistency, reliability and efficiency of information gathering, validation and aggregation.
  • Actively engage and partner with key stakeholders across the business in the preparation and monitoring of monthly KPI and P&L reports; collate, analyze and challenge information appropriately.
  • Reconcile and maintain Balance Sheet Accounts (WIP revenue, COGS Accruals, Prepayments) monthly, providing reports and analysis to the CFO.
  • Work in partnership with the management teams and cost center managers in all aspects of financial performance reporting and decision making.
  • Provide support for the external audit and support the implementation and maintenance of compliance with Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls.
  • Business partner with key stakeholders across the wider organization to understand operational challenges and its impact on delivery of company objectives.
  • Act as the point of escalation for accounts payable queries and sales ledger / credit control queries, and production of key data for the Group finance team.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a financial discipline and a minimum of 7 years of finance experience with increasing responsibility required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree, MBA and/or CPA certification is preferred.
  • 7+ years of medical device industry experience a plus.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Start-up and/or building exceptional finance team desirable.
  • Current knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) and internal financial processes and controls.
  • SOX experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills, with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Financial Analysis Package experience (Microsoft Dynamics AX experience and/or Sage 200 a plus).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable driving change and using organizational skills.
  • Disciplined and process-oriented with a high level of enthusiasm, professionalism, integrity, and maturity.
