DIRECTOR of QUALITY ASSURANCE - FOOD PRODUCTION

Summary:

A progressive Food Production company has just opened a Director Quality Assurance position due to rapid growth and market expansion!

Currently, we are looking to find an exceptional DIRECTOR of QUALITY ASSURANCE that will focus on the implementation and maintenance of the quality-management programs and staff of this Food Production facility.

Director of Quality Assurance Responsibilities

  • Creates product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures
  • Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies, procedures and government requirements
  • Collaborates with R&D, Sanitation and Production to develop new product and engineering designs for manufacturing and training methods
  • Oversees the product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results
  • Develops a quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions

Director of Quality Assurance Experience

  • 4-year degree is required. Preferred disciplines include Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, microbiology or other closely related scientific/technical disciplines
  • 7 years of progressive and current work experience in a quality function within a food manufacturing environment
  • SPC training and knowledge of statistical methods
  • BRC or SQF experience is required
  • Solid analytical and conceptual abilities
  • Ability to motivate and lead to build an effective team
  • High level of technical competence, problem-solving, and organization as well as strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to act strategically and handle multiple projects simultaneously
