A post-harvest supply company is currently seeking a Sales Manager to oversee their Sales team in the Central Valley of California. If you are currently involved in Agriculture-related sales, and would like to grow into a management role, look no further. APPLY TODAY!

Responsibilities:

  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by effectively managing sales professionals
  • Build and promote strong, long lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding their needs
  • Manage sales plans for open market customers; chemicals, fertilizers, irrigation, shipping supplies, orchard maintenance, machinery, equipment, etc.
  • Assist in determining annul budgets and margin analysis
  • Set short and long term sales strategies and evaluate effectiveness of current sales programs.
  • Make recommendations relative to product or service enhancements that may improve customer satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Routinely makes sales calls to various customer sites by following an established sales route within three districts.
  • Will spend approximately 75% of work time in the field engaged in sales-related activities.
  • Align with citrus packinghouse management to obtain timing and detail of packinghouses budgeting process, capital planning, anticipated purchases, business expansions, and sales growth.
  • Maintains a customer database in a CRM (Salesforce); customer profile, sales forecast, sales trends, and purchasing history, among other things.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records (make, model, serial #, etc.) of all packinghouse equipment sold, including packinghouse machinery, plastic bins, warranty services, recycle program and sourcing of consumable supplies.
  • Responsible for processing quotations, sales orders and purchase orders in SAP for the respective Operations Centers.
  • Collaborates with the Operations Centers' management teams, Packing Services, Carton Plant and Pallet Plant management teams in an effort to ensure customer expectations are met.
  • Responds to and reports on packinghouse issues with the respective Company business units or product manufacturer with a high sense of urgency

Requirements:

  • A four-year degree in Agriculture, Business Administration and/or ten years related work experience in Operations and/or Sales.
  • Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager consistently meeting or exceeding targeted objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence at all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to drive sales process from plan to close
  • Strong business sense and industry expertise
  • Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
  • CRM experience a plus
