Reports to the General Manager/Managing Director of the Company.
Interfaces with department managers within the company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the Engineering department and team.
- Will be responsible for all aspect of engineering
- Institute 3D AutoCAD Inventor, or other, program for existing and future design documentation.
- All technical publications
- Provide production with manufacturing files including detailed and assembly drawings and instructions to meet committed scheduled delivery.
- Works closely with Marketing and Sales departments to ensure a consistent offering to meet customers' needs.
- Innovation of new product and technology via R&D program to anticipate customers' future needs.
- Prepare the department's budget and manage accordingly to maintain within its budget deficiencies will exit and develop action plans to make corrections.
- Set performance standards for the department and monitor its efficiency and make corrective changes where necessary to ensure standards are adhered to.
- Track and report quality trends and quality improvement efforts.
- Work with product development team to evaluate and select new products and vendors.
- Work closely with our suppliers to coordinate all technical and product issues.
- Work closely with Service department to resolve issues and make product improvement in those areas of concern through customer and service personnel feedback.
- Work closely with production to reduce manufacturing costs.
- Involvement in day to day engineering designs.
- Keep abreast of new technologies and competitive products through trade shows, field visits, etc.
- Assist Marketing and Sales and Service departments with customers via plant and field visits, presentations and meetings.
Job Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Design Engineering field or related combination of experience and education.
- 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing, product development, QA environment.
- Experience in mobile construction, heavy equipment or mining industries. Rock drilling application knowledge preferred.
- Strong knowledge of structural and heavy weldment design, stress analysis, and assemblies.
- Strong knowledge of mobile hydraulics, components, controls, 24 VDC electrical, mechanical components and mechanisms, power and pneumatic systems.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor 2d and 3d practices and design.
- Must have knowledge of quality systems and processes.

- Must have strong interpersonal skills, with strong leadership and management skills with proven problem solving capability.
