Junior Estimator - Commercial Construction

Are you an up-and-coming construction professional eager to advance in your career? This may be an opportunity for you. An award-winning Dallas/Fort Worth area General Contractor is seeking a Junior Estimator to join their team.

This is an entry-level position and a rare opportunity for an intellectually sharp and construction-oriented individual with 1-2 years of experience in a professional construction business environment.

The successful candidate will perform assignments specific to construction project estimating duties, necessary to support the Senior Level Estimators and help the company to pursue new work. This position will offer mentoring and training by Senior Level Estimators and Project Managers with the hands-on responsibility to grow professionally, learn the necessary know-how and understand the estimating/quotation process.


  • Reading drawings, specifications, and RFPs
  • Creating initial detailed take-offs to support construction cost estimates for all trades
  • Support of Senior Estimators in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals
  • Obtaining, analyzing, and tracking vendor quotes
  • Tracking costs and quantities
  • Accumulating and evaluating historical cost data for the development of future estimates
  • Reviewing and evaluating take-offs of others from existing drawings or specs
  • Working with estimating team to strategize final bids
  • Visiting project sites with Project Manager to better understand our construction methods


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction, Architecture, Business or Finance preferred
  • Construction or Project Management Experience
  • Knowledge of construction costs & contracting
