Job Description

Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for monitoring, developing, and improving manufacturing processes and equipment. This position is charged with executing these efforts to insure safety, quality, cost and delivery excellence within the fast-paced metal fabrication environment.

FUNCTIONS:

  • Evaluates manufacturing processes
  • Develops manufacturing processes
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency
  • Participates in efforts to design custom equipment
  • Assures product and process quality
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
  • Prepares product and process reports
  • Administrates the ERP system by coordinating and overseeing data

JOB REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in a similar role implementing lean principles and conducting process improvement events
  • Must have experience with modern manufacturing methods including Lean Concepts and Six Sigma
  • Must have experience and desire to work on the shop floor of a metal fabrication business with minimal office time
  • Experience revising manufacturing processes/equipment to solve production and/or quality constraints
  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, able to analyze complex data
  • Proficient with using spreadsheets and SolidWorks.
  • Excels in a highly dynamic organization

  • Exceptional interpersonal/written communication skills

  • Ability to work on multiple projects with limited direction
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Systems, or Mechanical Engineering

Experience:

  • SolidWorks: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 5 years (Preferred)
  • Six Sigma: 5 years (Preferred)
