Job Title: Director of Treatment Operations

Department: Treatment & Recovery


SUMMARY:


The primary function is to provide leadership and drive all facility functions to maximize revenue and profit by providing excellent customer service, managing expenses, allocating and maximizing resources while meeting all safety and compliance requirements. She/he will facilitate safety and operations training and supervise plant operators at the facilities to operate safely and in compliance at all times. This position will determine 'best" process management practices and direct local facility management and corporate operations management to standardize these practices. This person will oversee planning and develop financial requests to implement operating recommendations. The Director analyzes data and reports to top management through financial reports, forecasts, profit and loss statements and other tools necessary to manage the business and make informed decisions to maximize and enhance the business.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the activities of all aspects of the business unit to ensure safety and compliance, while maximizing profitability through expense control and revenue growth
  • Full P & L responsibility for the Division
  • Works with Sales and Services and Customer Solutions to grow volumes and maximizing pricing opportunities in the market
  • Maintains an awareness of competitive market place activities, pricing, new players and other changes that could affect the business
  • Focus on productivity, metrics, cost and continuous improvement
  • Ensure that the plants meet all local, municipal, state and federal regulations and safety requirements
  • Ensures proper staffing to maximize productivity and capacity utilization as well as meet customer and company requirements
  • Trains, coaches and develops team members to maximize potential. Sets clear, definable and measurable goals, follows up on progress, establishes accountability and communicates performance
  • Identifies processing and disposal options to help the company meet its environmental goals as well as manage costs and remain compliant
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and procedures
  • Establish and maintain relationships with regulators. The Director is responsible for maintaining an excellent and transparent relationship with local and state inspectors and senior regulators.
  • Develop annual budget and other financial forecasts as needed
  • Facilitates good customer service at all levels.
  • Compiles and analyzes various reports for decision making, management reporting and compliance.
  • Completes all documents and reports as required.
  • Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  • Conform with and abide by all policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management, clients, vendors and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience working with other departments and facilities.
  • Budgetary, profit & loss responsibility.
  • Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel.
  • Experience with Access, PowerPoint and Outlook a plus.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Very good communication skills
  • Working understanding of applicable regulations

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • Bachelor's degree in either Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Preferred).
  • Waste Stream or Wastewater training.
  • 5 years of Waste Water experience or related experience (Required).
