Job Description

Roadway/Transportation Engineer

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
  • Proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.
  • Identifies discrepancies in results.
  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

The candidate can look forward to projects including:

+ Intersection and Interchange Improvement Plans

+ Interstate Reconstruction Plans

+ Urban and Rural Roadway Improvement Plans

+ Maintenance of Traffic Plans

+ Drainage and Erosion Control Plans

+ The candidate will be responsible for following ODOT, OTIC, and/or City standards and performing engineering calculations under the supervision of a more senior engineer.

Minimum Requirements

+ Minimum B.S. in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

+ 2+ years of experience with an emphasis in civil engineering fields such as highway design, stormwater, and multimodal transportation projects.

+ Ability to recognize discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes

+ Good written and verbal communication skills

+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Bentley MicroStation/Geopak and experience with MS Office

+ Ability to work as a member of a team or perform independent work as required.

+ Good interpersonal skills, good command of the English language both, verbally and written, the ability to express thoughts clearly, good time management skills, and a good attitude towards work.

+ Valid driver's license required.

+ Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

+ Due to nature of the work U.S Citizenship is required
