My client is a global food-based infrastructure company publicly traded in Canada. With over 3,800 employees and over 30 global manufacturing brands, they are a leading provider of equipment and technology solutions for agricultural commodities including seed, fertilizer, grain and feed systems and an expanding platform for food processing facilities.

This division is a world class manufacturer of air management equipment specializing in the design of custom solutions for a wide range of industries. They makes dependable centrifugal and axial fans, ducting, transitions and other sheet metal and aeration products. Their aeration systems are custom built for each installation to provide optimum storage conditions for farm bins and major terminals. Their products help companies meet OSHA, EPA and other clean air guidelines.

The Opportunity

Actively seeking a Sales Engineer for the Aeration product line.


Sell business goods or services, the selling of which requires a technical background equivalent to a bachelors degree in engineering.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
  • Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs, and to determine system requirements.
  • Develop sales plans to introduce products in new markets.
  • Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
  • Identify resale opportunities, and support them to achieve sales plans.
  • Plan and modify product configurations under the direction of the Engineering department to meet customer needs.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers.
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.
  • Research and identify potential customers for products or services.
  • Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery in accordance with facility policies and operating procedures.
  • Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for installation and use, such as material handling equipment, machinery, and control systems.
  • Visit prospective buyers at commercial, industrial, or other establishments to show samples or catalogs, and to inform them about product pricing, availability, and advantages.
  • Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments.
  • Provide technical and non-technical support and services to clients or other staff members regarding the use, operation, and maintenance of equipment.

Position Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school) or equivalent related experience.
  • One to two years related experience preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Computer literate
  • Microsoft Office
