About the Opportunity:

We recently partnered with this OUTSTANDING family-owned construction company that's seeking an AWESOME traveling superintendent to help meet their project needs. This general commercial construction company prides itself on possessing a long list of satisfied, repeat customers and owes their success to their team of dedicated professionals. They are seeking a traveling superintendent with experience working on multi-million dollar projects related to Hospitality, Education, Commercial, and Retail.


  • Traveling superintendent must work with project manager in preparing a schedule of construction activities and their sequence, the organization structure, staff selection, and the manpower and construction equipment requirements of the project
  • Direct and control the total construction project to meet specifications within the allotted time schedule in an efficient manner to produce the expected profit
  • Traveling superintendent will assist the project manager/engineer in their duties including the prompt shipment of materials and permanent equipment and obtaining approvals of shop drawings and material samples
  • Coordinate the activities of subcontractors to so they are well integrated with project expectations and performing job tasks/activities effectively and on schedule
  • Review and approve all requisitions, field purchase orders, invoices, and other significant reports and documents
  • Traveling superintendent must report regularly to the project manager to keep them constantly informed on job progress, plans, and problems that could significantly affect costs or schedules
  • Make decisions under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict
  • Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes, making necessary changes, using customer input to make improvements, and meeting/exceeding internal and external customer expectations
  • Traveling superintendent must act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations


  • 5+ years of experience in traveling superintendent role
  • Associates Degree in Construction Management (or related field), OR comparable amount of experience
  • Proven experience managing and directing subcontractors
  • Proven track record of meeting deadlines
  • Experience in supporting a rapidly growing organization around the complexities of executing work
  • Traveling superintendent must have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Proficient in blueprint reading
  • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL- typically home every 2 weeks
