VP Commercial Banking Officer in Pella at GPAC

Job Description

Growing community bank is looking for an experienced commercial loan officer capable of helping them service the Pella market area.

Main responsibilities/areas of focus are listed below:

  • To oversee and expand loans in the commercial lending portfolio in order to provide additional diversification of earning assets for the bank, and also to take advantage of opportunities for cross selling and creating multiple relationships per customer.
  • Assist in creation of achievable bank and officer goals in the department for loan growth, new deposit accounts and fee income. Monitor sales efforts and create obtainable benchmarks which support to the bank's strategic plan and for the branch.
  • Responsible for promoting and cross selling all bank products and services to the Des Moines market.
  • Create and maintain a current network of local contacts which can be used to generate referrals and promote the bank. This network will be constantly evolving and changing to take advantage of new opportunities with new clients.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Follows Bank and regulatory procedures and policies in securing, structuring, risk rating, pricing and analyzing commercial.
  • Prepare credit presentations.
  • Actively participate as a member of the Loan Committee.
  • Negotiate problems or past due loans with borrowers according to ethical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Consults with CEO, Chief Credit Officer and supervisor about any and all foreclosures, risk rating downgrades and insufficient collateral situations.

Ideal Candidate would have

  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial lending experience in market.
  • 4 year degree in related field of study.
  • Track record of success with prospecting new business yearly.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of commercial loan products.
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, underwriting, and origination.
