Litigation Paralegal
A reputable law firm is seeking a talented paralegal to join their firm in their California office. The ideal candidate should have a solid litigation background (preferably civil litigation, insurance defense, employment law & personal injury) and be able to handle assignments from various attorneys. This is a great opportunity for a team player who takes initiative and wants to grow in their legal career.
Required Background:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as litigation paralegal
- Experience organizing large caseloads, discovery, and trial preparation
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Personal commitment to high-quality work
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint
- Must be familiar with court procedures and have experience scheduling, drafting legal documents, and filing pleadings in state and federal courts
Responsibilities:
- Support litigation counsel in all stages of litigation
- Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, and assist counsel in drafting discovery responses
- Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and response letters
- Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
- Prioritize and complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner
