TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGER (TPM)/SENIOR TPM
JOB DESCRIPTION:
A thriving company that is an industry leader in wireless communications systems, is actively searching for a well-qualified addition to their Field Services Team leading the construction of In Building Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS). The TPM/SENIOR TPM is responsible for project management, installation and performance of DAS including managing subcontractors.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Commissioning of new DAS, troubleshooting, design, and post build walks with customers.
- An Associate degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics and
- Communications Engineering Technology, or equivalent military training is preferred.
- Must have computer knowledge to work basic computer software and be fluent in Microsoft Office products.
- Fiber optic cable experience and knowledge of wireless networks as well as equipment knowledge such as spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, PIM Tester and OTDR is a definite plus.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Completing site surveys to determine coverage/building requirements and customer needs factors affecting design and installation
- Working knowledge of RF principles. This includes antenna theory basics, transmit and receive basics (free space path loss)
- Working knowledge of communication theory including measurement metrics for CDMA, Ev-DO, UMTS, LTE, and channel/band assignments
- Conduct pre-construction walks
- Supervise subcontractors
- Project Management and updating of required tools
- Installation and termination of fiber optic and coaxial cable
- Installation of DAS gear and associated equipment, planning of cable and fiber routes
- Head end equipment knowledge includes: head end and remote unit location selection (power, grounding, space), repeater knowledge, DAS equipment and Base stations
- Employee is responsible for the commissioning and testing of new systems.
More specifically:
- Demonstrating proficiency in OEM (Operating Equipment Manufacturer) hardware including but not limited to Corning, JMA (Teko), ADRF, CommScope, and SOLiD
- Demonstrating proficiency in test equipment including but not limited to Spectrum Analyzers, Cable Analyzer, Site Master, Cell/BTS Master, CW Testing, OTDR, Nemo Outdoor, PIM Analyzer, and Phone Testing
- Troubleshooting system problems to satisfactory resolution
- Work with the company and OEM technical support staff to address and solve problems to customer’s satisfaction
- Establish and maintain working relationship with internal and external customers
- Reconcile and document necessary paperwork for expenses and billing
The position will require frequent travel outside of the home area that can last Monday through Friday.
