Outside Sales Rep/Commodity Buyer

We are looking for an experienced recycling Outside Sales Rep/Commodity Buyer responsible for buying and selling our recycling services through the achievement of opportunity-based sales. The Outside Sales Rep will reach business targets through effective management of designated territories and physical visits to customer sites. The Outside Sales Rep will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with customers and continually maintain professionalism, integrity, passion, and top shelf communication to both internal and external customers.

Job Type: Full Time, Hybrid

Responsibilities for the Outside Sales Rep:

  • Ensure delivery of target sales by meeting with customers and maintaining relationships
  • Recommend service and product enhancements to improve sales potential
  • Analyze plans and trends to ensure best assignment of territories, clients, and service distribution
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, participating in industry networks, and growing lasting client relationships
  • Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volumes and forecasting.
  • Remain relevant with economic indicators, changing trends, supply and demand shifts, and product mix.
  • Positively contribute to full sales and customer service teams
  • Document customer interactions and maintain data related to activities, accounts, and vendor partners
  • Develop and collaborate on long- and short-term sales strategies

Requirements of the Outside Sales Rep:

  • Minimum 3 years of recycling/waste/environmental experience
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and plan
  • World class customer service skills
  • Market experience and knowledge
  • Ability to recognize the client needs and sell within the scope of service menu
  • Budget development
  • Process and people management
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Communication of sales target and actuals
  • Minimum 5% client growth per year
  • Minimum 15% revenue growth per year
