Job Overview

The Director of Nursing (DON) will be responsible for leading a team of skilled nurses to promote a high level of quality care for patients. The position will entail training, managing and assisting the RN or LPN who are on staff as well as ensuring compliance with state and federal laws. The DON will also be in charge of helping to set budgets, assist in hiring and promoting a culture with a focus on high-level patient care. Other responsibilities will include designing and implementing programs that will improve the level of care that patients receive and assisting in various other duties. The ideal candidate would be someone who knows how to effectively communicate with others and is capable of promoting the culture of the company.


  • 3+ years of direct nursing experience
  • Knowledge of basic nursing skills
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school
  • Registered nursing license for the state of practice
  • Current CPR certification or ability to become certified
  • Strong communication skills
  • Prior management/supervisory experience is preferred
