INDUSTRIAL MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Summary of Mechanical Engineer Position:

One of our best client companies in the area has just opened an exciting new Mechanical Engineering position. They are currently looking to add a Mechanical Engineer to the team with 2 years of experience; the company offers a great work environment and team structure. This position will assist the management and systems engineering in the direction and organization of mechanical engineering activities of a variety of company directives. Summary: Support department efforts by engineering, planning, and working with electromechanical equipment. Industry experience in Aerospace, Industrial Equipment, Metal Fabrication, and Automobiles desired.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible to produce specifications for, design, develop, manufacture and install new or modified mechanical components or systems. This Mechanical Engineer needs to be technically minded, able to demonstrate numerical and scientific ability and have problem-solving skills.

Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and implement projects and methods to optimize utilization of plant and equipment
  • Develop and utilizes written plans, CAD and conventional drawings, cost comparisons, estimates, project scopes consistent with directives and objectives of plant management
  • Coordinate and direct equipment requirements and project activities of contract, vendor and plant personnel
  • Identify, analyze and recommend actions to correct design and process failures
  • Be able to think on one's feet and adapt to changing environments as well as effectively deal with problems and orders as they arise
  • Support fabrication and installation activities to ensure systems conform to customer specifications
  • Ability to perform heat transfer analysis and energy balance on complex systems
  • Must be able to handle system sizing analysis, equipment layouts, customer visits, and cost analysis

Mechanical Engineer Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of field experience, post graduation
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Familiar with design softwares and platforms to develop detailed engineering drawings and maintain computerized and manual files of output (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks or other 3D CAD)
  • Experience contributing as an active team member
  • Ability to lead and interface effectively with other engineering staff of a multi-disciplined team, including strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Ability to plan and manage while maintaining deadlines
  • Supports fabrication and installation
